You can trust the actor Dylan Sprouse talking when he didn’t agree with his lines, something that was evident while playing Zack and Cody’s Suite Life in the 2000s.
The actor, 31, refused to do the sugary joke written by his pregnant on-screen mother, played by. Kim Rhodesand Thursday, August 1, on Sirius XM’s “Andy Cohen Live,” Sprouse revealed why.
“[I] don’t just think that bad jokes are funny,” Sprouse explained. “There’s a better joke somewhere else, unless you’re talking about yourself.”
Sprouse, who played Zack and his twin Cole, who played Cody, said the only difference was making fun of himself instead of paying the money.
“Except for that [the joke] It’s looking at myself, which I find fun,” he said. “But if you’re pointing fingers at people and talking about how they look, I don’t usually find that funny. I think there are better jokes.”
Rhodes, 54, previously shared that one of her favorite memories on set was when Sprouse stood up for her while she was pregnant and refused to say a bad line. (Rhodes welcomed a daughter and a husband Travis Hodges in 2008).
“He kept skipping over it,” Rhodes recalled during an episode of “Back to the Best” in November, 2023. skipping and skipping and skipping.”
This refusal angered the executive producer who allegedly tried to force Sprouse to say something, but the child refused.
He says, ‘I will not disrespect any woman like that, let alone this woman. You wrote something funny, I’ll say it.’ That’s my guy,” Rhodes recalled, adding that Cole was also supportive at the time.
Sprouse, who was only 15 at the time of the incident, joked that it was his ego that made him put his foot down and refuse to follow the script, despite pressure from adults involved in the production.
“I mean you’d be surprised what having your game at 11 will do for your confidence,” A Beautiful Tragedy said the star.
He added, “I was a young boy who doubted again until he was 18 years old. My father also kept us strong.”
Zack and Cody’s Suite Life aired from 2005 to 2008 before the twins reprized their roles in the spinoff series, Suite Life on Deckwhich started in 2008 and ran for three seasons.
