Friday’s performance at the Omnium Banque National presented by Rogers in Montreal was delayed due to rain. Play will not start before 1:30 pm local time.
Weather permitting, fourth-seeded Pole Hubert Hurkacz and Thanasi Kokkinakis will begin the Main Court schedule, which will later feature defending champion Jannik Sinner.
The three matches of the second round are yet to be finalised. Hurkacz and Kokkinakis took the court Thursday night, but rain canceled their match — immediately following their warm-up — for the rest of the night. Ninth seed Taylor Fritz and Washington champion Sebastian Korda will battle it out in the All-American tournament. Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech leads Flavio Cobolli 3-0, 15/15 with the Italian player.
This year’s Canadian ATP Masters 1000 tournament started one day later than usual on Tuesday due to the Paris Olympics. The final is scheduled for Monday.
Earlier today the double team of Jack Draper and Sinner pulled out. The British-Italian duo secured two wins to reach the quarter-finals. Hugo Nys and Jan Zielinski advanced to the last four via walkover.
