Netflix Christmas Day NFL Games To Be Produced By CBS Sports

Netflix will use CBS Sports as the producer of two National Football League games the broadcaster is carrying this Christmas.
Wall St. The Journal reports that the one-year deal with CBS Sports is for game production only, and does not include on-air talent selection. While that doesn’t rule out the use of CBS broadcasters, Netflix may choose to put its own stamp on the game with different resolutions, the WSJ reports.
CBS will receive production fees for the two shows, as well as promotional spots for its programming. CBS will also receive ad inventory for broadcast games in the competing teams’ local markets. Broadcast or cable games must be made available through local over-the-air television in the cities where the teams play, the NFL insists.
“CBS has always proven to be a great partner,” Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s vice president of fantasy series, said in a statement.
Netflix’s contract with the NFL is for Christmas games for the next three seasons. This year, the games are a game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers, followed by a game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans.
It has yet to be announced whether Netflix will carry one or more games during the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
