Gifford, 70, told People in an interview published on Tuesday, July 30, that he injured his back in two places while recovering from a hip procedure revealed by the outlet on July 16.

The pelvis hurts beyond belief. but anyway, here I am.”

Gifford described her recovery from hip replacement surgery as “one of the most painful experiences of my entire life,” but admitted she didn't let it get her down and quit “in two days.”

Before the procedure, Gifford noted that her “hips [were] until the end,” doctors recommended surgery because of his busy lifestyle.

Gifford said her surgeon told her, “You climbed mountains, you made movies, you climbed on stages. You never took off your high shoes, you kept walking and that's why you're going through what you're going through.”
