Kamala Harris has arrived in Chicago for the Democratic National Convention (DNC), where she will be officially confirmed as the party’s presidential candidate.
He flew into O’Hare Airport on Air Force Two after a day of campaigning in the state of Pennsylvania with his running mate, Tim Walz.
His Republican opponent, Donald Trump, held a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
Ms. Harris is expected to join President Biden on stage when he addresses the gathering on Monday.
Pennsylvania has been a key battleground in recent presidential races, with Donald Trump winning the state in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020.
A new CBS News poll shows Mr. Trump and Ms. Harris neck and neck in the swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.
In a speech on Sunday, Ms Harris bluntly criticized her rival, suggesting he is a “coward” whose politics is focused on putting opponents down.
“What we do know is that the real and true measure of a leader’s power depends on who he elevates,” he told his crowd of supporters.
“Anyone who likes to hit other people is a coward.”
A day earlier in the same state, Mr Trump called his Democratic rival “crazy” and boasted that he was “much better looking” than him.
Ms. Harris arrived in Chicago on Sunday ahead of the Democratic National Convention, where delegates will announce her as the nominee for the November 5 election.
The conference will conclude on Thursday when Ms Harris will deliver her first speech after officially accepting the party’s nomination.
Security is tight in the area ahead of the four-day event, with tens of thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters expected to converge on Chicago.
