Director Susanne Bier “Won’t Go Back to The Night Manager S2”

When The Night ManagerThe second season is coming, probably in the middle of next year, whose award-winning director will not have his name in the credits.
Oscar winner Susanne Bier helped the first season become a hit that premiered on the BBC and was sold in over 180 countries. Stars Olivia Colman and Tom Hiddleston will reprise their roles but the director will be Georgi Banks-Davies.
Bier said The Sunday Times that, although he enjoys the challenge of making a TV series (he also directed Postpone and an upcoming Netflix drama The Perfect Couple), did not want to sign up for a second season of the adaptation of John le Carre’s novel. He said:
“I didn’t do anything in the second season. I think I’ll feel, ‘How do I do this differently,’ which I would be afraid of – but not in a good way.
“I’m not saying I would ever do a second season of something, but my idea was not to do it.” He went on to say that he was happy with the selection of a female director for the second series of the show. “That was very important because it is a male issue that needs to have a balanced view.”
As well as The Night ManagerBier has previously been directed Postponeand the film Bird Box. He won his Oscar for the 2010 Danish film In a Better World. The Perfect Couplestarring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber and Meghann Fahy and Eve Hewson, comes to Netflix on September 5.
