Breeze unveils 18 new routes, 5 new non-stop locations

Breeze Airways is planning a major network expansion, announcing 18 new routes on Wednesday. As part of the network move, the Utah-based carrier will add five new cities to its route map.
Among the new airports is Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Although Breeze will only operate one nonstop from Newark, it’s a milestone — marking the first time the carrier has served one of New York City’s three major airports.
And Breeze is making a big splash in several other cities as it prepares to launch the service for the first time.

Between now and February, the carrier will launch four new routes from Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) in Florida. It will also begin operations in Erie, Pennsylvania; South Bend, Indiana; and Wilmington, North Carolina, near the Atlantic coast.
The new routes will see Breeze double in size at its soon-to-be-launched base, Fort Myers’ Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), and expand its footprint to several Northeast airports where it has been expanding in recent months, including Westchester County. Airport (HPN) in White Plains, New York.
In total, the five new airports will give carriers 64 nonstop destinations in all 30 states, Breeze said Wednesday.

Head to head with Avelo
It is also worth noting that the carrier will compete with the airline Avelo, which also launched the service in 2021 and itself has recently undergone a major network expansion.
The two airlines will go head-to-head on three of the four routes that Breeze is launching from Wilmington.
Breeze and Avelo will compete directly on the Daytona Beach-to-Hartford route, and indirectly with Breeze’s new Westchester County flight – Avelo currently flies from Daytona Beach to Tweed New Haven Airport (HVN) in Connecticut , which sits about 50 miles east of Westchester Airport and draws passengers from multiple destinations.
Bottom line
Breeze continues to grow its network, three years after its launch. The carrier’s latest expansion of 18 routes includes a special focus on growth in the Northeast, months after announcing major expansion plans in Providence.
The carrier plans to switch to a fleet of fully-equipped Airbus A220 jets, and recently expanded its loyalty offering with its Breezy Rewards program, including its first cobranded credit card.
