Aerosmith has announced that they are stopping the tour following the lead singer Steven TylerVoice damage.

“Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He spent months tirelessly working hard to get his voice back to where it was before his injury,” Aerosmith’s official Instagram account shared on Friday, August 2. “We’ve seen him struggle despite having the best medical team around him. Sadly, it is clear that a full recovery from his voice injury is impossible. We have made the sad and difficult, but necessary decision – as a band of brothers – to step down from the touring stage. “

The statement continued: “It has been an honor in our lives that our music has been a part of it. In every club, in every big trip and in beautiful and private moments you have given us a place in the song of your life.”

The band, formed by Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford again Joey Kramer, went on to thank their fans, team and staff for their support. “Thank you one last time – the best fans in the world. Play our music loud, now and always. Keep dreaming. He made our dreams come true.”

Fans were quick to support the band in the comments section. “Thank you so much for 50 years of the best rock ‘n’ roll ever written and recorded,” one person wrote, as a second social media user added, “Sad news. Best wishes to Steven, Joe, and the rest of the band. Your music of fame continues!”

The band’s announcement comes months after Tyler, 76, announced his retirement in September 2023. Aerosmith postponed his concert The Silence Comes Out: A Farewell Tour after learning that Tyler’s injuries were worse than expected.

“Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal cord injury is more serious than first thought. “His doctor confirmed that in addition to the injury to his voice, he suffered a ruptured throat, which requires ongoing care,” the team announced at the time. “He is receiving the best treatment available to ensure his recovery is speedy, but given the nature of the fracture, he is told patience is essential.”
