Good news for Apple TV’s fans A Dark Story: will return for a second season.
The sci-fi drama was renewed over the weekend after its first season ended back in late June. According to AppleTV head of programming Matt Cherniss, the show was a “universal hit, capturing the imaginations of viewers and making it a beloved and important part of Apple’s world-class sci-fi series.” We are excited to continue our collaboration with Blake Crouch, our partners at Sony and the rest of the creative team and cast…on a new season that will captivate viewers with multiple blockbusters as we delve deeper into the various mysteries.”
Blake Crouch, creator and writer of the novel the show is based on, added that during the first season, the creative team realized there was “so much more story to tell. We’re only scratching the surface of these characters as they fight to survive and find their way home in a world of mind-bending realities. Thank you to everyone who turned on the first season… you’ve been great to us.”
A Dark Story stars Joel Egerton as Jason Dessen, a physicist from Chicago who is kidnapped by another version of himself. While his doppelganger lives the life of his partner, Jason #01 goes around trying to find a way back home. Audiences have clearly taken it seriously, and it’s a solid alternative to the sci-fi portion of the AppleTV catalog; the name of the press release examines in accordance with the future periods of The beast again Separationand the popularity of To All Humanity again King: Legacy of monsters. Apple hasn’t given a release window for the second season, but hopefully it’s not too long before we see what the Jasons do next.
