Dolly Parton Launches Makeup Line With ‘Jolene’ Lipstick Shade

The country star, 78, announced on Tuesday, August 13, that she is launching Dolly Beauty. The first release, available on August 22, will feature Dolly Beauty’s Heaven’s Kiss lipstick collection.
“I feel gorgeous on the inside, so I want to look like it on the outside … something’s coming @dollybeauty 💄 ,” Parton teased on social media, sharing a photo of herself in her makeup chair holding one of the four shades she sells.
Each shade is inspired by her musical legacy, including Jolene Red, named after her 1973 hit “Jolene.” Parton said WWD Tuesday, “I like to name my products with songs,” revealing other shades Honey Plum, Rosebud and Birthday Suit.

Parton, who has revealed that she usually wears a full face of makeup when she sleeps, noted that each lipstick pack will match her style – complete with rhinestones.
“I’ve always said I never leave a rhinestone unturned,” the Grammy winner told the media. “I wanted to be beautiful all my life like many girls, especially rural girls who dream of being glamorous. I started making my own makeup at home as a kid, and I’ve been famously putting on makeup – usually too much – for years.
Parton joked, “Lord knows, nobody wears makeup better than me,” so she saw it firsthand when choosing a collection.
“I have to participate in everything, and I sample and try things and say, ‘Oh, that’s not good, let’s go back and do this or that,'” he explained. “Even if it’s a package, where it says my name, I want them to think of me when they use it.”
