JetBlue is now partnering with Vrbo

There’s a new way to earn miles with a major US airline when you stay at a vacation rental.
On Monday, JetBlue announced a new partnership with Vrbo.
As part of the tie-up, you can now book Vrbo stays using JetBlue’s Paisly platform, the carrier’s online booking site for non-flight bookings. That means you’ll be able to earn JetBlue TrueBlue points for Vrbo bookings and work your way up to Mosaic elite status – including a great bonus opportunity in the next few weeks.
The move is a win for customers looking to book vacation rentals that are more spacious than a typical hotel room, like a beach house or a cozy mountain cabin for a fall escape.
While Vrbo is already part of a loyalty program known as One Key, which includes online travel companies Expedia and Hotels.com, this Vrbo-JetBlue partnership gives travelers a way to earn loyalty money through a major airline program when they stay on Vrbo . property.
What is Paisly?
Paisly by JetBlue is JetBlue’s travel brand service. You can use the site to book non-airline travel features, from hotel stays to car and home rentals — including, now, through Vrbo.
Earning TrueBlue points with Paisly
TrueBlue members who book travel or make purchases through Paisly can earn 1 TrueBlue point per dollar spent. They can also work their way towards the Mosaic elite position; Every $100 spent on Paisly purchases earns 1 Mosaic tile.
Remember that 50 tiles is the minimum qualification for Mosaic 1. However, if you earn only 10 tiles, you will receive your first photo on the Perks You Pick menu, which includes prizes such as free alcoholic drinks for one trip, early boarding and safety priority, among other options. (You can choose more bonuses as you reach 20, 30 and 40 tiles.)
For example, let’s say I wanted to book a week on North Carolina’s Outer Banks and spent $2,500 on an ocean-view beach house booked on Vrbo through Paisly.

That would earn me 2,500 TrueBlue points and 25 Mosaic tiles — half way to Mosiac 1 elite. A $5,000 reservation will directly benefit this state.
Keep in mind that you can also earn 1 Mosaic tile for every $1,000 charged on certain JetBlue credit cards, so if you’re a JetBlue cardholder, it’s an easy way to pack in that cash.
August promotion
In celebration of the new partnership, JetBlue is also offering a bonus points promotion.
Between now and Aug. 25, you will earn 3 TrueBlue points for every dollar spent on Vrbo bookings made through Paisly.
That means a $3,000 stay will earn you 9,000 TrueBlue points, which is usually more than enough for a one-way flight home — and could get you a good chunk of the way to a big redemption.
Bottom line
Finding ways to earn loyalty fees with a major airline or hotel program often requires some smart thinking when booking on a site like Airbnb or Vrbo — though there is ways to do it.
This new partnership between JetBlue’s Paisly and Vrbo gives travelers a new option to do just that.
Those long weekend or week-long stays that are common on Vrbo bookings can add up to spending, and this new partnership offers another way to get more rewards for the price you pay — more than anything you charge on a rewards credit card.
If you’re a regular JetBlue flier, that $3,000 beach cabin reservation could put you on top for exclusive Mosaic status — or make it possible to enjoy a release in the airline’s premium Mint cabin.
