Fortnite Battle Pass rewards may appear in the store under Epic Games’ new policy

Fortnite reverses the long-held policy of War Passes. Previously, developer Epic Games treated Battle Pass items as limited-time rewards that would never appear in the in-game store. Going forward, Epic Games may make Battle Pass rewards available in the store, but not until at least 18 months after the pass expires. The company said the revised policy will not have any impact on the prices of military passes.
“This change allows us to continue to invest in new and exciting Battle Pass rewards while allowing players to enjoy content, including Outfits based on popular licensed characters,” Epic Games said in a press release on Wednesday.
This policy covers all types of matters that may arise from a Fortnite Battle Pass. The store can offer different reward styles for Battle Pass and original. The 18 month waiting period will also apply to any items from the Reward Bonus and Quest Reward game tabs.
The ability to purchase cosmetics over time removes the pressure of being exclusive each season for players. Epic said that there is no guarantee that Battle Pass cosmetics will be available in the store in the future, so playing enough to get unlocks is still the most reliable way to get what you really want. However, the studio said it will notify players if the item will only be available through the Battle Pass.
