Emma Corrin Reveals Upsetting ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Death

As Emma Corrin joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they tackle the daunting task of ending a fan favorite.
I Deadpool and Wolverine star said they were “very angry” that their superhero character Cassandra Nova killed off Chris Evans’ Human Torch in a surprise cameo after she last played the Marvel superhero in 2005 and ’07. Fantastic Four movies.
“I was upset at the screening the other day,” Corrin told the British GQ. “Because we watched it after the first game in New York with all the fans at Lincoln Center, everyone was so happy to see him appear on the screen, and three minutes later, I killed him. I felt great pain. I was hiding in my seat. Yeah, it was weird. It’s not something I would have thought I would have done if you had asked me a few years ago.”
Evans’ surprise comes after his MCU run as Captain America (aka Steve Rogers) ended in 2019. Avengers: Endgame. The film also brought back some past Marvel favorites, including Wesley Snipes as Blade and Jennifer Garner as Elektra, as well as the debut of Channing Tatum’s Gambit, whose first solo Marvel outing never happened.
“That’s something [Marvel] well done, cameos,” Corrin said. “You know, they give people what they want. They gave them cameos. But they also don’t use them for free. They are all there for a reason. And I think you really feel that. Or, I hope people hear that, because I think they’re being used really smartly.”
Corrin said they were “on the same set” with Evans, and although they met with Garner, Tatum and Snipes, they “didn’t shoot together” as they didn’t have a scene.
This actor played the evil twin of Dr. Charles Xavier (previously played by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy) in the new Marvel crossover, which opens July 26 in theaters.
