Police Chase turns deadly
PEOPLE reports that Neoni Copeland, 23, crashed her speeding Kia Stinger into a blue Toyota Corolla. The incident happened in Boynton Beach on July 30 at around 8 pm local time.
Police informed PEOPLE that the accident sent Jenice Woods, 27, and her mother, Marcia Pochette, 57, to the hospital, where they died.
According to CBS 12 News, Jenice Woods was driving her blue Toyota when Neoni Copeland hit her. The newspaper revealed that Copeland avoided a chase from West Palm Beach police before hitting Jenice Woods and her mother. Neoni reportedly fled on foot after the collision, but police arrested him after a 911 call describing a man matching his description.
Junel Pochette, Marcia’s husband and Jenice’s father told CBS 12 News that his daughter was two months pregnant when she died.
“Two and a half lives were taken away from me: my daughter, my wife, my future grandson. We were looking forward to having a new baby.”
Junel Pochette also pointed out that drivers often cause accidents in Boynton Beach.
“Accidents happen often there. I wish this is something they consider. I don’t want to see another life taken like that,” said Junel.

“Although there are a few questions and answers at the moment, we must allow the facts to lead us to the conclusion of the investigation. We are working with the Boynton Beach Police Department and are committed to transparency,” Adderly said.
WFLX and WPTV are reporting that Neoni Copeland is facing charges of resisting arrest and fleeing the scene of a fatal crash.
Copeland is currently being held in the Palm Beach County Jail without bail, and it is unclear if he has legal representation.
