Brody Malone's Olympian Dad Brings Bad Tears With Moving Book

Get ready to cry some ugly tears.

US gymnast Brody Malone he received words of encouragement from his father John Malone the same day he and Team USA won the bronze medal in the men's team final on July 29 at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“I want to tell you about my old boy Brody,” John shared in a video posted by NBC News on X (aka Twitter). “He was born from his mother's smile and my competitive fire. After he broke his arm climbing out of his bed when he was two, we got him into gymnastics to get all his strength out.”

John went on to tell how, behind him and his wife Tracey Malone they met in college in the equestrian program, decided to raise their children in the small town of Georgia-Cedar Town to be there.

“It was a great place for Brody to grow up,” he continued. “It wasn't until 2012 that we lost Trace to cancer.”
